On June 7-8, 2019, the XV National Environmental Forum, organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, was held in Novogrudok.
Since the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Belarus are the rational use of natural resources potential, attracting investment, introducing innovative technologies and facilitating a gradual shift to a green economy, the 15th National Environmental Forum could not pass without the “Green Cities. Green energy” section.
The UNDP/GEF international technical assistance project “Removing Barriers to Wind Power Development in Belarus” and “Green Cities” brought together over 60 representatives from various organizations that are actively involved in the sustainable development of our country.
The event was held at the Novogrudok State Agrarian College, where a training and consulting center for renewable energy sources is operating. Since September 2018, “Environmental protection and rational use of natural resources” degree program has been introduced here.
The section “Green cities. Green Energy” allowed for the updating information on the state and plans for the development of wind power, the approaches of modern urban planning and energy efficient development of cities.
