The international wind energy exhibition “Wind Expo 2016” took place in Tokyo

The international wind energy exhibition “Wind Expo 2016” took place in Tokyo from 2 to 4 March. It has become the place for meeting and networking of key players in the industry.

The exhibition featured a number of specialized products and services ranging from wind turbines (equipment, components, construction and IT services of wind energy) to a wide range of products and technology of the related industries.

There were companies from different countries, including such as SIEMENS, HITACHI, ENERCON, SENVION, BERGEY WIND POWER, FUKUSHIMA, OFF SHORE WIND CONSORTIUM, FUJI DENKO, etc.

In addition, the USA, Denmark, Holland and Korea officially participated in the exhibition with national pavilions, demonstrating the unique products and technology of their countries.

Traditionally, “WIND EXPO” is held within “WORLD SMART ENERGY WEEK”. “WSEW” is a group of 9 international exhibitions dedicated to different spheres of renewable energy and related spheres: solar power generation (PV Expo), energy storage (Battery Japan), intelligent power grids (SMART GRID Expo), etc.

According to the official press release of the exhibition, the all-in-package event this year was attended by 1,430 exhibitors, 63,423 visitors and 14,252 delegates.

The technical conference “WIND EXPO Technical Conference” also took place. It annually presents the latest developments, achievements and services in the sphere of generation and consumption of wind power as one of the world's leading renewable energy sources.

The baton of holding exhibitions dedicated to wind power in 2016 is passed by Japan to its western neighbour: “W-Power 2016” will take place in China (Shanghai) from 24 to 26 May.
