At the end of May, during the American wind power exhibition “WINDPOWER 2016” in New Orleans (USA), the Board Meeting took place, at which the new Chairperson was appointed – Morten Dyrholm, Vice President of “Vestas Wind System” (a Danish company, the world leader in the production of wind turbines).
“I’m very excited at this new opportunity. As Chairman I will focus on strengthening the role of GWEC in new and emerging markets and help sustain the positive momentum surrounding GWEC after the adoption of the new market making strategy and the many new members that have joined GWEC recently”, said Morten Dyrholm when commenting on his appointment at the Board meeting.
He has succeeded Dr. Klaus Rave who had been the Chairperson of GWEC since 2010.
“It’s hard to say good bye to Klaus who has supported us so well for so long. Klaus was one of the early pioneers of the global wind industry whose invaluable knowledge and dedication will bear fruit for years to come, and is deeply appreciated throughout the industry. However, I’m excited to welcome Morten who I’ve known for nearly a decade and look forward to working with him to bring GWEC to the next level”, said Steve Sawyer, Secretary General of GWEC.
