The annual report on renewable energy published by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) of the US Department of Energy shows large-scale energy statistics, including data on the development of renewable energy sources, clean energy investment and technology, as well as specific data and trends.
The report shows that renewable energy in the USA has increased up to 16.7% of the total installed capacity of all types of energy generation, and up to 13.8% of the total electricity production in the past year.
Renewable energy sources accounted for 64% of the newly commissioned power capacities in the USA in 2015, compared with 52% in 2014.
“The publication of this paper began in 2009. The report has valuable information for a wide range of professionals in the energy sector: politicians, analysts and investors”, says Philipp Beiter, an analyst from NREL Energy. “The data of 2015 highlight the current trend of growth of renewable energy potential, both in the United States and around the world.”
