As of now, on the website of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus in the section "Vacancies in the International Technical Assistance Project" there is a vacancy for selection of an international individual consultant in order to assist in the selection of investors for projects in the field of wind power development in the Republic of Belarus.
Brief information about the project.
In accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers on 18 December 2014 № 1189 “On approval of international technical assistance projects”, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus with the assistance of the UN Development Programme are implementing the international technical assistance project “Removing Barriers to Wind Power Development in Belarus” (hereinafter – the Project). The Project is financed by the Global Environment Facility.
The Project aims to remove barriers to wind power development in Belarus and construct wind power turbines with a total capacity of at least 25 MW.
The main project activities are the development of draft regulations for wind power development; increase of the level of investor confidence in project implementation in the field of wind power in the Republic of Belarus; establishment of a mechanism of private funding of wind power; development of project documentation for the construction of five wind farms.
The role of the International Financing Expert on Wind Energy is to support the attraction of investors and investment into wind energy in the Republic of Belarus, working closely with the Project management Unit, MNREP, UNDP and the juridical company hired by MNREP to steer the latter through the complexities of the investment tenders for the wind power projects prepared in the framework of the Project.
Within the bid, the Consultant should perform work consisting of the stages described in the technical assignment.
